To provide a remote diagnosis method for an elevator and a remote diagnosis device for an elevator which allow door-opening/closing diagnosis in a remote diagnosis operation to be surely executed while securing security level at a floor at which an elevator does not stop.SOLUTION: In a remote diagnosis method for an elevator according to an embodiment, a remote diagnosis device that executes a door-diagnosis operation to remotely diagnose door-opening/closing motion at each floor in elevators in which floors at which the elevators do not stop are set, when a next door-opening/closing motion-candidate floor selected for the door-opening/closing motion to be sequentially diagnosed at each floor is set as a car no-stop floor at which a car call by which the floor is designated as a destination floor cannot be registered and when a user is in an elevator car, skips processing for the door-opening/closing motion at the floor; and when the candidate floor is set as a hall no-stop floor at which a hall call in the floor cannot be registered and when a user is in an elevator hall at the floor, skips processing for the door-opening/closing motion at the floor and executes the door-diagnosis operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
