To provide a portable terminal capable of appropriately determining whether or not the portable terminal is located on an expressway while reducing power consumption when the portable terminal uses a current positioning function on the expressway.SOLUTION: In a portable terminal 1, a positioning interval setting unit 123 sets a positioning interval of a current position according to a moving speed. A geofence acquisition unit 125 acquires a position of a geofence area existing in a driving direction of an own machine. A next positioning position specifying unit 126 specifies a next positioning position of the current position at the positioning interval set by the positioning interval setting unit 123. A positioning interval adjusting unit 127 adjusts a positioning interval of the current position so that the specified next positioning position is within the acquired next geofence area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】携帯端末が現在位置測位機能を高速道路上において利用する場合に、消費電力の削減を実現しつつ、高速道路上に位置しているか否かの判別を適切に行える携帯端末を提供する。【解決手段】携帯端末1において、測位間隔設定部123は、移動速度に応じて現在位置の測位間隔を設定する。ジオフェンス取得部125は、自機の進行方向に存在するジオフェンス領域の位置を取得する。次測位位置特定部126は、測位間隔設定部123が設定した測位間隔での現在位置の次測位位置を特定する。測位間隔調整部127は、この特定された次測位位置が、取得された次のジオフェンス領域内になるように、現在位置の測位間隔を調整する。【選択図】図1
