To improve accuracy in recognition of a lighting state of a traffic light around a vehicle.SOLUTION: A signal recognition system according to the present invention detects, based on camera-captured information including an image captured by a camera mounted on a vehicle, a traffic light around the vehicle to acquire a signal detection information. The signal detection information indicates at least an appearance of each of a plurality of detected parts of the traffic light. On the other hand, light pattern information indicates a relative positional relationship among the plurality of light parts of the traffic light and an appearance of each of the plurality of light parts in its lighting state. The signal recognition system compares the signal detection information and the lighting pattern information. The signal recognition system recognizes a lighting state of the traffic signal as lighting states of the plurality of light parts matched with respective appearances of the plurality of detected parts of the traffic lights.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】車両の周囲の信号機の点灯状態の認識精度を向上させる。【解決手段】信号認識システムは、車両に搭載されたカメラによって撮像される画像を含むカメラ撮像情報に基づいて、車両の周囲の対象信号機を検出し、信号検出情報を取得する。信号検出情報は、対象信号機の複数の検出部分の各々の外観を少なくとも示す。一方、灯火パターン情報は、信号機の複数の灯火部分の間の相対位置関係、及び複数の灯火部分の各々の点灯時の外観を示す。信号認識システムは、信号検出情報と灯火パターン情報とを比較する。そして、信号認識システムは、対象信号機の複数の検出部分の各々の外観と整合する複数の灯火部分の点灯状態を、対象信号機の点灯状態として認識する。【選択図】図1
