To provide a lock device of a fuel tank cap, capable of preventing damages to an operation knob or engaging means by avoiding direct transmission of operation force of operation means to the engaging means.SOLUTION: A lock device of a fuel tank cap includes: a cap 1 moving between a closed position at which an oil supply port communicating with a fuel tank of a vehicle is closed, and an open position at which the port is opened to be capable of opening/closing the oil supply port; an operation knob 2 enabling an oscillation operation around an oscillation shaft Lb by an operator; engaging means 3 movable interlocked with the oscillation operation of the operation knob 2; and lock means capable of locking the movement of the engaging means 3 from an engaging position to an allowable position. There is also provided operation force transmission means (first gear G1 and second gear G2) which are formed between the oscillation shaft Lb of the operation knob 2 and the engaging means 3, and can move the engaging means 3 by transmitting thereto the turning force of the shaft Lb with the oscillation operation of the operation knob 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
