To suppress variation in temperatures among plural battery cells constituting a battery module.SOLUTION: A battery-cooling apparatus 1, including a loop-type thermo-syphon 10 that has an evaporator 11, a condenser 12, a vapor channel 13 and a fluid channel 14, circulates working fluid in the evaporator 11 and vapor channel 12 for cooling a battery module 3 that includes plural battery cells 2. The battery-cooling apparatus further includes an electromagnetic valve 15 disposed in the fluid channel 14, and an ECU 20 for controlling opening and closing of the electromagnetic valve 15 on the basis of a temperature of the battery cell 2. The ECU 20 includes a temperature control part for controlling opening and closing of the electromagnetic valve 15 on the basis of variation in temperatures among the plural cells 2 of the battery module 3 when soaking the battery module 3 so as to suppress variation in the aforementioned temperatures.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
