To achieve proper activation of a front airbag from a standpoint of occupant protection.SOLUTION: An airbag deployment method includes: a step A2 of detecting longitudinal acceleration that is acceleration in a longitudinal direction of a vehicle and lateral acceleration that is acceleration in a lateral direction of the vehicle; steps A3, A4 and A7 of calculating a deployment threshold of a front airbag on the basis of the lateral acceleration; and steps A5, A6 and A8 of deploying the front airbag when the longitudinal acceleration is the deployment threshold or above.
