To provide a mooring apparatus having a relatively large mooring force while being small, and a mooring method.SOLUTION: A supporting structure 8 is formed between a moving body and a fixed body, and has a protruding portion 6 with a pair of supported surfaces 10 arranged between a pair of supporting surfaces 9, and configured to be in contact with each of the supporting surfaces 9, where the protruding portion 6 has a pair of the opposing and supporting surfaces 9 in the direction intersecting the moving direction x of a moving body. One side of a supported surface 10 is supported by the one side of the supporting surface 9 as the moving body moves, and then the supporting structure 8 restrains the movement of the moving body by supporting the supported surface 10 by the other side of the supporting surface 9.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
