To provide a railway vehicle body structure in which a door frame and an outer panel, having thicknesses different from each other, are welded with weld strain suppressed.SOLUTION: A railway vehicle body structure includes: an outer panel provided with a door opening; and a door frame 20 welded to the door opening. The door frame 20 has: a body part 23 thicker than a plate thickness of the outer panel; and a recessed part 24 recessed to the outer panel side in a thickness direction. The outer panel and the door frame 20 are welded at a formation position of the recessed part 24 when viewed in the thickness direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
