To provide a sound image prediction device and a sound image prediction method each of which enables a sound image position to be predicted with high a high degree of accuracy.SOLUTION: The sound image prediction device according to an embodiment comprises an acquisition unit, a calculation unit, and a prediction unit. The acquisition unit acquires an acoustic signal output in a vehicle by left and right sensors that imitate both ears of a listener. The calculation unit calculates difference information including the interaural level difference and the interaural phase difference in the acoustic signal on the basis of the acoustic signals of the left and right sensors acquired by the acquisition unit. The prediction unit pregenerates difference information which is based on a test signal and localization relationship information indicating the relationship between the sound image positions in the test signal, and on the basis of the collation result between the localization relationship information and the difference information calculated by the calculation unit, the prediction unit predicts the sound image position in the acoustic signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】音像位置を高精度に予測することができる音像予測装置および音像予測方法を提供すること。【解決手段】実施形態に係る音像予測装置は、取得部と、算出部と、予測部とを備える。取得部は、車内に出力された音響信号を、聴覚者の両耳を模した左右センサによって取得する。算出部は、取得部によって取得された左右センサそれぞれの音響信号に基づいて音響信号における両耳間レベル差および両耳間位相差を含む差分情報を算出する。予測部は、試験信号に基づく差分情報および試験信号における音像位置の関係性を示す定位関係情報を予め生成しておき、当該定位関係情報と、算出部によって算出された差分情報との照合結果に基づいて音響信号における音像位置を予測する。【選択図】図2
