To provide a power transmission shaft of which cost reduction can be achieved, and is surely damaged when a prescribed load is inputted in an axial direction.SOLUTION: A power transmission shaft 1 is configured from a shell 2 made of a fiber-reinforced plastic, and a stub shaft 4 (connection member) which is connected to an end of the shall 2, and transmits power by rotating. The shell 2 comprises: a cylindrical body part 10 with an axis O1 as a center; a cylindrical second connection part 30 which is formed continuously with an end of the body part 10. The stub shaft 4 is inserted in, and a projection 50, which regulates movement of the stub shaft 4 to the body part 10 side, is formed on an inner peripheral surface 31 of the second connection part 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】低コスト化を図れるとともに、軸線方向に所定の荷重が入力したときに確実に破損する動力伝達軸を提供する。【解決手段】繊維強化プラスチック製の管体2と、管体2の端部に接続されたスタブシャフト4(連結部材)と、により構成され、回転することで動力を伝達する動力伝達軸1である。管体2は、軸線O1を中心とする筒状の本体部10と、本体部10の端部に連続して形成される筒状の第二接続部30と、を備えている。第二接続部30の内周面31には、スタブシャフト4が嵌め込まれるとともに、スタブシャフト4の本体部10側への移動を規制する突起部50が形成されている。【選択図】図2
