To provide a glass laminate of thin, light-weight glazing that possesses the durability and sound-damping properties associated with thicker, heavier glazing.SOLUTION: A glass laminate structure 10 comprises: a non-chemically strengthened external glass sheet 12; a chemically strengthened internal glass sheet 16; and at least one polymer interlayer 14 formed between the external glass sheet 12 and the internal glass sheet 16. The internal glass sheet 16 has a thickness from 0.5 mm to 1.5 mm, and a modulus of elasticity from 60 GPa to 85 GPa. The external glass sheet 12 has a thickness from 1.5 mm to 3 mm. The internal glass sheet 12 contains an alkali aluminosilicate glass. The internal glass sheet 12 contains one or more alkaline earth oxides such that the content of the alkaline earth oxides is at least 5 mass%.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
