To make a hand mechanism less likely to affect the flight performance of a flying robot, in the flying robot having the hand mechanism.SOLUTION: A flying robot includes a body, a promoting portion that has a plurality of promotion units for generating promotion force by driving a rotor, the plurality of promotion units provided on the body, a hand mechanism that has at least two finger portions attached to a base portion so as to open/close, and a control portion that controls the opening/closing action of the at least two finger portion in the hand mechanism. The flying robot is configured to fly by the promoting portion. While the hand mechanism does not grip an object during the flight of the flying robot, the control portion maintains the hand mechanism in an open state where the at least two finger portions are expanded.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
