To provide a multistage type platform fence which can extend an inspection cycle more than before.SOLUTION: A platform fence 2 (2R) includes: 1) a first rack and pinion mechanism part 21 which includes a first pinion 21p pivotally supported by a door pocket part 10 and a first rack 21r disposed on a first movable door 11, in order to slidingly move the first movable door 11 relative to the door pocket part 10; 2) a second rack and pinion mechanism part 22 which includes a second pinion 22p being connected to the first pinion 21p and pivotally supported by the door pocket part 10, and a second rack 22r disposed on a second movable door 12, in order to slidingly move the second movable door 12 relative to the first movable door 11; and 3) a motor 30 for driving the first pinion 21p. In the platform fence 2 (2R), the second pinion 22p is rotated in engagement with rotation of the first pinion 21p driven by the motor 30, and thereby, the first movable door 11 and the second movable door 12 are interlocked.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
