To provide a vehicle capable of reliably detecting a walking family member or acquaintance while traveling and of performing a predetermined process such as soliciting whether or not to board the detected family member or acquaintance.SOLUTION: A gait recognition system comprises: one or more cameras that capture a line-of-sight area outside a self-vehicle; a storage unit that stores gait information for detecting a target person who is a target of gait recognition; gait recognition determining means for recognizing a gait of a person existing in the line-of-sight area outside the self-vehicle from image information captured by the camera, and for determining whether or not a person having a gait which matches the gait of the target person stored in the storage unit is detected in persons whose gait are recognized; and processing means for performing a predetermined process when the gait recognition determining means determines that a person having a gait which matches the gait of the target person is detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】歩行中の家族や知人などを走行中に確実に検知して、その検知した家族や知人に対して乗車するか否か勧誘する等の所定の処理を可能にする自動車を提供する。【解決手段】自車の外部の見通しエリアを撮影する1又は複数のカメラと、歩容認識の対象とする対象人物を検出するための歩容情報を記憶する記憶部と、カメラで撮影された画像情報から自車の外部の見通しエリアに存在する人物の歩容を認識すると共に、歩容を認識した人物の内に、記憶部に記憶されている対象人物の歩容と合致する歩容の人物を検出したか否かを判別する歩容認識判別手段と、歩容認識判別手段で、対象人物の歩容と合致する歩容の人物を検出したと判別したときに、所定の処理を行う処理手段とを備える。【選択図】図1
