To provide a battery charge controller for a vehicle which can decrease a rating output of a voltage transducer while suppressing abnormal drop of a power supply voltage of an on-vehicle apparatus or aggravation of fuel consumption or electricity cost of the vehicle.SOLUTION: A battery charge controller (5,32) for a vehicle is installed on the vehicle (1) comprising a first battery (11) for supplying power to a traveling motor, a voltage transducer (12) for dropping a voltage of the first battery, a second battery (15) which can be charged by the output of the voltage transducer and outputs a voltage less than an output voltage of the first battery, and on-vehicle apparatus (41,42) operable by output of the second battery and output of the voltage transducer. The battery charge controller comprises a current adjustment circuit (5) capable of decreasing a charging current supplied from the voltage transducer to the second battery, and a controller (32) for controlling the current adjustment circuit based on an output current of the voltage transducer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
