To provide a power transmission unit for an electric bicycle which achieves good assembly workability, and to provide an electric bicycle including the power transmission unit.SOLUTION: A power transmission unit for an electric bicycle includes: an input body 30; an output body 31; a torque detection part 62; a detected part 630; and a detection part 631. The input body 30 has an input shaft 35. The input shaft 35 rotates by force transmitted from the outside. The input body 30 rotates with the input shaft 35. The output body 31 rotates with the input body 30 to output rotational force. The torque detection part 62 is located at an outer periphery of the input body 30. The detected part 630 rotates with or in conjunction with the input body 30. The detection part 631 detects a rotation state of the detected part 630. When viewed from a direction orthogonal to a rotation axis of the input body 30, at least a part of the torque detection part 62 and at least a part of the detected part 630 overlap with each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】組立の作業性が良い電動自転車用動力伝達ユニット及びこれを備えた電動自転車を提供する。【解決手段】電動自転車用動力伝達ユニットは、入力体30、出力体31、トルク検出部62、被検出部630及び検出部631を備えている。入力体30は、入力軸35を有している。入力軸35は、外部から伝達した力によって回転する。入力体30は、入力軸35と共に回転する。出力体31は、入力体30と共に回転することで、回転力を出力する。トルク検出部62は、入力体30の外周に位置する。被検出部630は、入力体30と共に又は連動して回転する。検出部631は、被検出部630の回転状態を検出する。入力体30の回転軸と直交する方向から見て、トルク検出部62の少なくとも一部と被検出部630の少なくとも一部とが重なっている。【選択図】図2
