To provide a steering gripping detection device capable of precisely detecting gripping of a steering wheel by an occupant even when an environmental change occurs.SOLUTION: A steering gripping detection device 10 includes: a shaker 20 for shaking a steering wheel 12; a vibration detection sensor 22 for detecting a vibration level of the steering wheel 12; and a control section 24 for changing a frequency for shaking, controlling the shaker 20 and the vibration detection sensor 22 to detect a vibration level for each frequency, and determining gripping of the steering wheel 12 by an occupant on the basis of a detection result of a vibration level for each frequency of the vibration detection sensor 22.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】環境変化があっても乗員によるステアリングホイールの把持を正確に検出可能なステアリング把持検出装置を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】ステアリング把持検出装置10は、ステアリングホイール12を加振する加振器20と、ステアリングホイール12の振動レベルを検出する振動検知センサ22と、周波数を変更して加振し、周波数毎の振動レベルを検出するよう加振器20及び振動検知センサ22を制御し、振動検知センサ22の周波数毎の振動レベルの検出結果に基づいて、乗員によるステアリングホイール12の把持を判定する制御部24と、を含む。【選択図】図1
