To provide a battery system and a method of controlling the same capable of optimizing a pre-charge period based on a state of a relay in a battery system for charging a load device with a pre-charge circuit.SOLUTION: A battery system 1 closes a positive electrode main relay 60 for electrically connecting an inverter 40 and an assembled battery 10 after a pre-charge by a pre-charge circuit 64. The battery system includes a control unit 24 capable of adjusting a pre-charge period, which is a period from a start of pre-charging by the pre-charge circuit 64 to a closing of the positive electrode main relay 60. The control unit 24 estimates a degree of deterioration of the positive electrode main relay 60 based on the pre-charge period and adjusts the pre-charge period so that the estimated deterioration degree reaches a deterioration regulation value of the positive electrode main relay 60 at an end of a specific period.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】負荷装置にプリチャージ回路による充電を行う電池システムにおいて、リレーの状態に基づいてプリチャージ期間を適正化することのできる電池システム及び電池システムの制御方法を提供する。【解決手段】電池システム1は、プリチャージ回路64による事前の充電の後、インバータ40と組電池10とを電気的に接続させる正極メインリレー60を閉じる。電池システムは、プリチャージ回路64による事前の充電を開始してから、正極メインリレー60を閉じるまでの期間であるプリチャージ期間を調整可能である制御部24を備え、制御部24は、プリチャージ期間に基づいて正極メインリレー60の劣化度を推定するとともに、推定する劣化度が特定の期間の終了時に正極メインリレー60の劣化規制値に到達するようにプリチャージ期間を調整する。【選択図】図1
