To provide a novel visual target detection device capable of appropriately detecting a target visually recognized by a driver.SOLUTION: A visual recognition target detection device 1 comprises: a camera 10 that captures an image of a driver; a face orientation detection unit 11 that detects a face orientation of the driver from the image captured by the camera; a visual line detection unit 12 that detects a visual line of the driver from the image captured by the camera; a storage unit 15 that stores the visual line data when the visual line detection unit 12 can detect the visual line; a visual recognition target estimation unit 13 that estimates a visual recognition target visually recognized by the driver from the visual line or the face orientation; and an output unit 14 that outputs information indicating the visual recognition target estimated by the visual recognition target estimation unit 13. The visual recognition target estimation unit 13 estimates the visual recognition target based on the visual line data if the visual line detection unit 12 can detect the visual line when the face orientation detected by the face-orientation detection unit 11 is equal to or less than a predetermined angle, and estimates a visual recognition target based on the visual line data stored in the storage unit 15 if the visual line detection unit 12 has not detected the visual line.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】運転者が視認している対象を適切に検知できる新規な視認対象検知装置を提供する。【解決手段】視認対象検知装置1は、運転者を撮影するカメラ10と、カメラにて撮影した画像から運転者の顔向きを検知する顔向き検知部11と、カメラにて撮影した画像から運転者の視線を検知する視線検知部12と、視線検知部12にて視線が検知できた場合に、当該視線データを記憶する記憶部15と、視線または顔向きから運転者が視認している視認対象を推定する視認対象推定部13と、視認対象推定部13にて推定した視認対象を示す情報を出力する出力部14とを備える。視認対象推定部13は、顔向き検知部11にて検知した顔向きが所定の角度以下のときに、視線検知部12にて視線が検知できていれば、その視線データに基づいて視認対象を推定し、視線検知部12にて視線が検知していなければ、記憶部15に記憶された視線データに基づいて視認対象を推定する。【選択図】図1
