To reduce the looseness caused when a plurality of plate-like members are connected to one another.SOLUTION: A platform step device 10 is used by bringing side surfaces (a side surface 42 and a side surface 52) of a center step 40 and a side step 50, which are splittable, into intimate contact wich each other. The platform step device applies a force pressing a first gear 62 and a second gear 63 provided on the side surface 42, which is one of both side surfaces, against the side step 50 having the side surface 52 facing the first and second gears by bias members such as a first spring 66 and a second spring 67. Specifically, the platform step device applies the force in a rotation direction opposite to each of the two gears such as the first gear 62 and the second gear 63 around a rotational shaft 61 as the force pressing these gears against the side step 50.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
