To increase the versatility of a roadside device excluding a power transmission coil in a noncontact power supply system.SOLUTION: A roadside device for a noncontact power supply has a power transmission coil and a power transmission device and transmits electric power to a power reception coil in an electric vehicle by magnetic field resonance in a non-contact manner from the power transmission coil. Regardless of the size of the power transmission coil, an inductance and a coupling coefficient are designed such that a coefficient of a power transmission determined by the inductance of the power transmission coil and the coupling coefficient between the power transmission coil and the power reception coil is kept from changing from a certain value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
