To manufacture a ship with an appropriate scale at low cost by efficiently utilizing an existing ship.SOLUTION: A utilization method of an existing ship 1 includes the steps of: cutting out, as tank units 31A and 31B, intermediate hull parts 5C and 5D including some tanks 3 out of the plurality of tanks 3 and a part of a hull out of the hull, in a bow-stern direction Da in which the some tanks 3 are disposed, from the existing ship 1 having the hull in which the plurality of tanks 3 are arranged in the bow-stern direction Da; and manufacturing a new ship by disposing a bow side hull part 5A at a stern side hull part 5B including an engine room 2m after the tank units 31A and 31B are cut out from the existing ship 1, where the stern side hull part is arranged adjacently to a side of a stern 2r with respect to the intermediate hull parts 5C and 5D.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
