The PTC heater includes a plate-like first electrode plate 62, a plurality of PTC elements 61 which are arranged so that first surfaces 61a thereof are arranged in contact with the broadest surface of the first electrode plate 62, and intersect to one another in an extending direction of the heat medium flow path and an intersection direction intersecting with the extending direction, a second electrode plate 63 which has a flat-plate shape and is arranged so that the broadest surface thereof is in contact with second surfaces 61b of the PTC elements 61 which face the opposite side to the first surfaces 61a. Between the first electrode plate 62 and the second electrode plate 63 is formed a first gap portion 100A which extends in the extending direction between the adjacent PTC elements 61, and communicates with the outside of the first electrode plate 62 and the second electrode plate 63 when viewed from a direction orthogonal to the extending direction and the intersection direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6

    【課題】PTCヒータを製造する際に用いる接着剤から揮発するガス成分を、確実かつ効率的に除去する。【解決手段】熱媒体加熱装置は、熱媒体流路内の熱媒体を加熱するPTCヒータを備える。PTCヒータは、板状をなす第一電極板62と、第一面61aが第一電極板62の最も広い面に接触して配置され、前記熱媒体流路の延在方向及び前記延在方向に交差する交差方向に複数並ぶように配列されたPTC素子61と、平板状をなし、第一面61aと反対側を向くPTC素子61の第二面61bに対して最も広い面が接触して配置される第二電極板63と、を有する。第一電極板62と第二電極板63との間には、隣り合うPTC素子61の間を前記延在方向に延びて、前記延在方向及び前記交差方向と直交する方向から見た際に、第一電極板62及び第二電極板63の外部と連通された第一隙間部100Aが形成されている。【選択図】図6
