To charge an electric vehicle by effectively using available power without tripping a master breaker.SOLUTION: A power storage system which electrically connects an electric vehicle, on which a storage battery is loaded, to a user through a charge cable includes: a power measuring unit which measures power based on a current, flowing through a power receiving point of the user, and a voltage applied to the power receiving point to acquire a power measurement value, to originate the information of the power measurement value and a predetermined reception power target value; a power control unit which receives the information from the power measuring unit, and based on the received power measurement value and the reception power target value, successively updates a charge power target value of the storage battery; and an AC/DC conversion circuit which charges in the storage battery according to the control of the power control unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
