To adjust a suspension property by predicting future vertical vibration of a vehicle body based on an undulation state in the range of the optimum length of a front road surface.SOLUTION: In a suspension property adjustment method, a natural oscillation period of a suspension of own vehicle is calculated (S2), a length Tp of a future prediction interval is set based on the natural oscillation period (S3), an undulation state of a road surface in front of own vehicle is detected (S5), vertical vibration of a vehicle body in the prediction interval is predicted based on the undulation state detected in the range from the position of own vehicle to a position on the front as long as a distance Dp equivalent to the length Tp of the prediction interval, and a suspension property is adjusted so as to suppress vertical vibration of the vehicle body based on the predicted vertical vibration.     【課題】前方の路面の最適な長さの範囲における起伏状態に基づいて将来の車体の上下振動を予測して、サスペンション特性を調整することを目的とする。【解決手段】サスペンション特性調整方法では、自車両のサスペンションの固有振動周期を算出し(S2)、固有振動周期に基づいて将来の予測区間の長さTpを設定し(S3)、自車両の前方の路面の起伏状態を検出し(S5)、自車両の位置から予測区間の長さTpに相当する距離Dpだけ前方の位置までの範囲で検出した起伏状態に基づいて予測区間における車体の上下振動を予測し、予測された上下振動に基づいて車体の上下振動を抑制するようにサスペンションの特性を調整する(S6)。【選択図】図10
