To provide a parking mechanism which achieves reduction of the number of components to achieve space saving.SOLUTION: A parking mechanism 10 inhibits rotation of a parking gear 14 fixed to a gear shaft 12 to be in a lock state and includes: a cam member 20 attached to an outer periphery of a rod 30 and having cam teeth 25, which may engage with the parking gear, on an outer peripheral surface; and a rotation inhibition member 40 having an inhibition tooth 45 which engages with the cam teeth 25 to inhibit rotation of the cam member 20 around a rod axis. The cam member 20 moves a lock position, at which the cam member 20 engages with the parking gear 14 and the rotation inhibition member 40, and a lock release position, at which the cam member 20 engages with one of the parking gear 14 and the rotation inhibition member 40, in conjunction with movement of the rod 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
