To provide a driving section line recognition device that can accurately detect a change in width of a lane.SOLUTION: A driving section line recognition device 1 comprises: an image acquisition unit 9; a line recognition unit 11; a vehicle width calculation unit 13; a lane width calculation unit 15; and a width change detection unit 17. The image acquisition unit is configured to acquire images representing a periphery of a vehicle. The line recognition unit is configured to recognize two driving section lines segmenting the lane on the basis of the image. The lane width calculation unit is configured to calculate a width of other vehicle. The lane width calculation unit is configured to calculate a width of the lane on the basis of the two driving section lines recognized by the line recognition unit. The width change detection unit is configured to detect a change in width of the lane on the basis of a change accompanied by time proceeding of a relationship between the width of the other vehicle and the width of the lane.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
