To make it possible to brake a universal caster without having to take a hand off from a foot or a truck.SOLUTION: A universal caster 30 of a pivot 40 is fitted to a bottom surface 42 of a truck 50 (a), and a wheel 34 is positioned at a reference wheel position 34S with respect to a travel direction 52 (b). A locus circle 54, in which a control part 37 on an outer periphery of the wheel 34 turns around the pivot 40, is formed at a height H2 from the bottom surface 42 (a) (b). A control point 47 is set on the locus circle 54 at an angle θ (=about 120°) from the reference wheel position 34S, thereby positioning control means 20 fitted to the bottom surface 42 (b). When the truck 50 is stopped and is caused to retract slightly, the wheel 34 turns around the pivot 40, reaches 34C after 34B and is pressed by the control means 20, and rotation of the wheel 34 is regulated (c) (d), the truck 50 is held in place. When the truck 5 is caused to advance, the wheel 34 is separated from the control means 20, automatically reaches the reference wheel position 34S, and can cause the truck 50 to stably advance straight (a) (b).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
