To provide an underwater power supply system capable of shortening a standby time of a ship on the ocean.SOLUTION: An underwater power supply system comprises a work apparatus, a first battery unit, and an underwater vehicle, where the work apparatus includes at least one power receiving pad arranged in the water, the first battery unit is attached detachably to the work apparatus and includes a power supply pad capable of contactlessly supplying power to the power receiving pad and a battery electrically connected to the power supply pad, and the underwater vehicle travels between the ship on the ocean or an underwater station suspended from the ship on the ocean and the work apparatus, transports the power supply pad capable of contactlessly supplying power to the power receiving pad and a second battery unit including the battery electrically connected to the power supplying pad, to the work apparatus, and removes the first battery unit from the work apparatus and attaches the second battery unit to the work apparatus.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
