To efficiently transmit impact load, resulting from a side collision, to a sunroof reinforcement without increasing the number of body skeleton-based components even in a design in which a rear-side end of an opening of a sunroof part is located further rearward than a front-side end of a center pillar.SOLUTION: An upper vehicle body structure comprises: roof side rails 2 extending in a vehicle body longitudinal direction on both right and left sides of a vehicle width direction of a vehicle body upper part; a roof panel 3 disposed across a space between the pair of right and left roof side rails, and provided with a sunroof part 31; a sunroof reinforcement 32 disposed across a space between the pair of right and left roof side rails so as to reinforce a rear end side of an opening of the sunroof part; and a center pillar 4 extending in a vehicle body vertical direction and coupled to a central part in the vehicle body longitudinal direction of the roof side rail. To an inner reinforcement 22 of the roof side rail, a rail inner reinforcement 5 is joined which is formed having such a length as to extend from a front side end of the center pillar to a rear side end of the sunroof reinforcement and whose upper side is bent in an inverted L shape toward a vehicle outside direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】サンルーフ部の開口の後側端がセンターピラーの前側端より後方に位置していても、ボディ骨格系の部品点数を増やすことなく、側面衝突による衝撃荷重を効率的にサンルーフリンフォースメントに伝達する。【解決手段】車体上部における車幅方向の左右両側において車体前後方向へ延設されているルーフサイドレール2と、左右一対のルーフサイドレール間に跨り配設され、サンルーフ部31が設けられたルーフパネル3と、サンルーフ部の開口の後端側を補強するように左右一対のルーフサイドレール間に跨り配設されているサンルーフリンフォースメント32と、車体上下方向に延び、ルーフサイドレールの車体前後方向中央部に連結されているセンターピラー4とを備え、ルーフサイドレールのインナリンフォースメント22には、センターピラーの前側端からサンルーフリンフォースメントの後側端に亘るような長さで形成され、上部側が車外側方向に向かって逆L字状に屈曲したレールインナリンフォースメント5が接合されている。【選択図】図1
