To provide a bumper reinforcement member for an automobile made of an aluminum alloy extruded shaped-member with a closed cross section structure having a welding part along a longitudinal direction which is less likely to cause fracture in collision and can obtain high energy absorption performance.SOLUTION: A bumper reinforcement for an automobile includes a pair of flanges 2 and 3 located at an interval at a vehicle body side and a collision side, and a pair of webs 4 and 5 for connecting the flanges. Welding parts 6 and 7 are provided at the pair of flanges 2 and 3 and are not provided at the pair of webs 4 and 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
