To provide a failure diagnosis method for inverter circuit, capable of facilitating a failure diagnosis of FET in an inverter circuit and identification of a failure FET.SOLUTION: A pre-driver section 40, which is a motor drive element (a pre-driver IC) formed by integrating components such as a pre-driver and a voltage monitoring circuit, monitors drain-to-source terminal voltages of a plurality of semiconductor switching elements (FET) for motor drive constituting an inverter circuit 50. A control section 30 connected with the pre-driver section 40 determines whether each FET has a short circuit or the like, from a monitoring result of the drain-to-source terminal voltages and a monitoring result of an inverter power supply voltage.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】インバータ回路のFETの故障診断と故障FETの特定とを簡易に行えるインバータ回路の故障診断方法を提供する。【解決手段】プリドライバ、電圧監視回路等を一体化してなるモータ駆動用素子(プリドライバIC)であるプリドライバ部40において、インバータ回路50を構成するモータ駆動用の複数の半導体スイッチング素子(FET)のDS間電圧を監視する。そして、プリドライバ部40に接続された制御部30が、DS間電圧監視結果とインバータ電源電圧の監視結果とから各FETの短絡等の有無を判断する。【選択図】図2
