To provide a railway vehicle axle bearing that can reduce a sliding speed (sliding contact speed) with respect to a seal lip and a slide surface on which the seal lip slides, to suppress occurrence of generation of heat and delay a progress of wear of the seal lip and the slide surface.SOLUTION: In a railway vehicle axle bearing, an oil thrower and a rear cover are disposed at an axle end side and at an opposite side across an inner ring, respectively, and both axial ends are sealed by sealing devices. At least one of the oil thrower and the rear cover is divided into an axle fit member fitted to an axle and a lip slide member on which a seal lip of the sealing device slides. Between the axle fit member and the lip slide member, rollably-interposed balls and a cage holding the balls at predetermined intervals in the circumferential direction are interposed therebetween.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
