To provide a rubber composition for a base tread with improved fracture characteristics while maintaining and improving low heat generation properties, and thereby to provide a tire with improved fuel consumption performance and durability performance.SOLUTION: A rubber composition for a base tread includes 30-50 pts.mass carbon black in which 24M4DBP oil absorption is 90 ml/100 g or less and CTAB absorption specific surface area is 50 m/g or less, as a reinforcement filler, based on 100 pts.mass diene rubber component containing 15-30 mass% polybutadiene rubber containing 2.5-20 mass% 1,2-syndiotactic poly butadiene crystal, and 70-85 mass% isoprene rubber.     【課題】低発熱性を維持向上させながら、破壊特性の向上されたベーストレッド用ゴム組成物を提供する。また、それにより燃費性能および耐久性能の向上したタイヤを提供する。【解決手段】1,2−シンジオタクチックポリブタジエン結晶を2.5〜20質量%含むポリブタジエンゴムを15〜30質量%およびイソプレン系ゴムを70〜85質量%含むジエン系ゴム成分100質量部に対して、補強用充填剤として24M4DBP吸油量が90ml/100g以下、かつCTAB吸着比表面積が50m2/g以下であるカーボンブラックを30〜50質量部含むベーストレッド用ゴム組成物およびそれから構成されるベーストレッドを備えたタイヤ。【選択図】なし
