To provide a damping device for a railway vehicle capable of improving riding comfortability of a railway vehicle even if aged deterioration or initial setting error of an actuator or temperature variation in operating fluid is caused.SOLUTION: A damping device 1 for a railway vehicle includes actuators A1, A2 interposed between a vehicle body B of the railway vehicle and trucks T1, T2 and a control part C for controlling the actuators A1, A2. The control part C changes a control parameter for controlling the actuators A1, A2 such that the thrust of the actuators A1, A2 is reduced when the vibration of the trucks T1, T2 exceeds the predetermined vibration.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
