To improve visibility of a virtual image in an on-vehicle display device.SOLUTION: An on-vehicle display device comprises: an emission part which emits projection light which is a light flux including an image; a reflection part which reflects the projection light to form a virtual image superposed on outside scenery; a luminance obtaining part which obtains a luminance distribution which is an aggregation of luminance at respective points in front of a vehicle; and a luminance adjustment part which adjusts luminance of the virtual image on the basis of an angle formed by a high luminance area contains one or more points and having higher luminance than the average of luminance at the respective points, out of the obtained luminance distribution, and a reference direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
