To provide an onboard device with which, when retrofitted to a vehicle, it is possible to appropriately determine the regression of the vehicle without acquiring a signal, such as a shift position signal of the vehicle, from various devices of the vehicle.SOLUTION: Provided is an onboard device retrofitted to a vehicle, comprising: a position acquisition unit for acquiring the position information of the vehicle; a speed calculation unit for calculating the speed of the vehicle using the position information of the vehicle acquired by the position acquisition unit; an acceleration measurement unit for measuring acceleration in the front-back direction occurring to the vehicle; and a regression determination unit for determining the regression of the vehicle on the basis of the vehicle speed calculated by the speed calculation unit and the acceleration in the front-back direction occurring to the vehicle that is measured by the acceleration measurement unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
