To provide a rotation detection device which can accurately detect the rotation of a vehicle, and a rotation detection method.SOLUTION: The rotation detection device comprises a first acquisition part, a second acquisition part and a determination part. The first acquisition part is arranged at least at one end part of a side face of a vehicle in a fore-and-aft direction, and acquires the left-and-right acceleration of the vehicle to a left-and-right direction from the first sensor. The second acquisition part acquires the fore-and-aft acceleration of the vehicle in a fore-and-aft direction from the second sensor which is arranged at a center side rather than the first sensor in the fore-and-aft direction of the side face of the vehicle. The determination part determines the presence or absence of the rotation of the vehicle on the basis of the left-and-right acceleration acquired by the first acquisition part, and the fore-and-aft acceleration acquired by the second acquisition part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
