To provide a technique which allows for appropriate operation of a pinching detection switch, while increasing cushioning.SOLUTION: A pinching detection switch 1 includes a solenoidal pressure-sensitive detection members 5-1 through 5-3 having multiple spaced apart electrode lines, and a cover member 4 for covering the pressure-sensitive detection members 5-1 through 5-3. When viewing in the cross-sectional view, the cover member 4 includes a base part 4-1, a hollow part 7, and a deformation part 4-2 provided in the base part 4-1 so as to cover the hollow part 7. The pressure-sensitive detection members 5-1 through 5-3 are placed in the deformation part 4-2, a receiving part 8 for receiving the pressure-sensitive detection members 5-1 through 5-3 is placed in the base part 4-1, and the receiving part 8 includes a first receiving face for receiving the first pressure-sensitive detection member 5-1 at the position facing the first pressure-sensitive detection member 5-1, and a second receiving face for receiving the second pressure-sensitive detection member 5-2 at the position facing the second pressure-sensitive detection member 5-2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
