To provide a bumper reinforcement that is able to avoid concentration of stress on one end on one side in a vehicle width direction in the event of offset collision.SOLUTION: An upper plate part 23 and a lower plate part 24 of a rear bumper reinforcement 2 and both-end edges 23a, 24a, 25a, in a vehicle width direction, of a reinforcement plate part 25 are formed into respective shapes in which respective central portions in forward and backward directions of a vehicle body are curved inward in the vehicle width direction. This makes it possible to avoid concentration of stress on a specific part, on one side in the vehicle width direction, of the rear bumper reinforcement 2 in the event of offset collision from rear and prevent break and crack of an end of the rear bumper reinforcement 2. As a result, collision load can be absorbed in a wide range of a vehicle body frame and the need to significantly increase the rigidity of rear side members 3, 3 is eliminated, making it possible to reduce the weight of the vehicle body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】オフセット衝突の場合に、車幅方向の一方側の端部に応力が集中することを回避可能なバンパリインフォースメントを提供する。【解決手段】リヤバンパリインフォースメント2における上板部23、下板部24、および、補強板部25における車幅方向の両端縁23a,24a,25aを、それぞれ車体前後方向の中央部分が車幅方向の内側に向かって湾曲した形状で形成する。これにより、後突のオフセット衝突時、リヤバンパリインフォースメント2の車幅方向の一方側の特定の部位に応力が集中してしまうといったことを回避でき、リヤバンパリインフォースメント2の端部に割れや亀裂が発生してしまうことを抑制できる。その結果、車体フレームの広範囲で衝突荷重を吸収することが可能になり、リヤサイドメンバ3,3の剛性を大幅に高くしておく必要がなくなって、車体重量の軽量化を図ることができる。【選択図】図2
