To provide a technique to identify a footstep that an abnormality occurs without individually, visually recognizing for an escalator inspection.SOLUTION: The escalator inspection device to identify an abnormality portion of an escalator based on the sound emitted from the escalator is installed on the fixed position of the escalator and has the sound collecting devices 17, 18, the identifying unit 255 and the abnormality notification unit 256, where the sound collecting devices collect the contacting sound between the roller installed on the escalator footstep and the escalator rail, which is cyclically generated during the operation, the identifying unit identifies which footstep is abnormal based on the abnormal sound away from the period of the contacting sound collected by the sound collecting devices 17, 18, and the abnormality notification unit notifies of the information of the abnormality footstep identified by the identifying unit 255.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
