To provide a repeating device capable of detecting a normal state in which no short circuit failure has occurred to an activation line.SOLUTION: A repeating device includes: an activation line 41 to which an out-vehicle voltage VB0 higher than a reference voltage GND is applied when an out-vehicle device 2 is connected to a connector 90; an in-vehicle voltage applying circuit 43 applying an in-vehicle voltage VB1 higher than the reference voltage to the activation line; a determination signal output circuit 45 which outputs a determination signal at a first signal level when a voltage of the activation line is the reference voltage and outputs a determination signal at a second signal level when the voltage of the activation line is the out-vehicle voltage or the in-vehicle voltage; and a control part 30 which determines a normal state that no short circuit failure has occurred to the activation line when it is determined that a signal level of the determination signal while application of the in-vehicle voltage by the in-vehicle voltage applying circuit to the activation line is turned on or off has shifted to the first signal level and the second signal level.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
