To reduce burden on a worker and enable accurate initial setting in initial setting of a remote monitoring target apparatus.SOLUTION: A remote monitoring device 100 for collecting a sensor signal of a monitoring target facility 200 via an external apparatus I/F 121, monitoring the sensor signal according to a predetermined monitoring content, and transmitting the sensor signal to a monitoring center comprises: a specific information acquisition unit 112 that detects connection of the monitoring target facility 200 to the external apparatus I/F 121 and acquires specific information 240 on the monitoring target facility; a request data creation unit 113 that creates, from the acquired specific information 240, initial setting request data for requesting initial setting for associating a monitoring content for each monitoring target facility 200; a communication device for transmitting the created initial setting request data to the monitoring center server; and an initial setting unit 114 that registers, as setting information 150, the initial setting data including the monitoring content for each specific information, the initial setting data being returned in response to the initial setting request data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
