To provide an on-vehicle environment recognizing device that has a high measurement precision in a further wider visual field range.SOLUTION: In an on-vehicle environment recognizing device (1) that utilizes two cameras (100, 110) for sensing, visual fields of the two cameras include a stereo visual region and a monocular visual region, lateral searching is executed for a parallax image that is an output result of the stereo visual region, a road-surface distance in the stereo visual region is estimated, and the estimated road-surface distance is extended in the lateral direction to the monocular visual region for utilization, and a distance in the monocular visual region is measured.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】より視野の広い範囲で計測精度の高い車載環境認識装置を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】2つのカメラ(100,110)をセンシングに活用する車載環境認識装置(1)において、前記2つのカメラ視野はステレオ視領域と単眼視領域を有し、前記ステレオ視領域の出力結果である視差画像を横検索し、前記ステレオ視領域における路面距離を推定し、前記推定された路面距離を前記単眼視領域まで、横方向に拡張して利用して単眼視領域の距離計測をすることを特徴とする。【選択図】 図1
