To determine the type of a tire without being influenced by a variation for each tire and wear of a tire.SOLUTION: A tire coefficient calculation unit calculates the ratio of vehicle acceleration to the slip ratio of a tire installed in a vehicle, and calculates an average value of a certain number of ratios as a tire coefficient. A storage unit holds the calculated tire coefficient. A determination unit compares the latest value of the tire coefficient and the previous value of the tire coefficient held in the storage unit. When the latest value increases from the previous value and the increase amount exceeds a first threshold, the determination unit determines that the type of the tire has changed to a summer tire. When the latest value decreases from the previous value and the decrease amount exceeds a second threshold, the determination unit determines that the type of the tire has changed to a studless tire.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4

    【課題】タイヤ毎のバラツキ及びタイヤの摩耗の影響を受けることなく、タイヤの種類を判断すること。【解決手段】タイヤ係数算出部は、車両に装着されているタイヤのスリップ比に対する車両加速度の比率を算出し、一定数の比率の平均値をタイヤ係数として算出する。記憶部は、算出されたタイヤ係数を保持する。判断部は、タイヤ係数の最新値と記憶部に保持されているタイヤ係数の前回値との比較を行う。最新値が前回値から増加し、増加量が第1閾値を超えている場合、判断部は、タイヤの種類がサマータイヤに変化したと判断する。最新値が前回値から減少し、減少量が第2閾値を超えている場合、判断部は、タイヤの種類がスタッドレスタイヤに変化したと判断する。【選択図】図4
