The vehicle ECU uses, in a charging standby state in which the electric power storage device is ready to be charged using power supply facilities, the user position Pu to calculate a user moving speed Vu and a user distance Du, and uses the user moving speed Vu and user distance Du to calculates arrival time Tu that the user requires to reach the vehicle. The ECU starts charging the electric power storage device when the value obtained by subtracting a charging time Tc required to completely charge the electric power storage device from the arrival time Tu becomes less than a predetermined value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
