To provide a multilayer heat insulating material which exhibits high heat insulation performance under environments at different external pressures such as a pressurized environment and a vacuum environment.SOLUTION: A multilayer heat insulating material 1 includes: an enclosing member 4 which is joined to a structure so that a closed space 8 is formed between a plurality of stacked heat insulating films 2 and the structure 10; a plurality of heat-resistance spacers 6 and a plurality of load-resistance spacers 5 which are inserted between the adjacent heat insulating films. The heat-resistance spacer has elasticity to force applied in a stacked direction of the plurality of heat insulating films. The load-resistance spacer has a connection part which connects so as to separate a first mounting part mounted on one of the adjacent heat insulating films and a second mounting part mounted on the other. When compression force reaches a predetermined value, the connection part separates, and the adjacent heat insulating films are supported by the first mounting part and the second mounting part. The plurality of heat-resistance spacers and the plurality of load-resistance spacers are arranged separately from each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
