To be able to suppress an increase of loss due to the fluctuation of a power to be supplied to a load.SOLUTION: A power-supply unit for an electric vehicle comprises: a resonance type inverter which includes a first resonance capacitor, and a switching element for cutting off an electric current flowing in a resonant circuit, and generates a first alternating-current power from a direct-current power through resonance of the resonant circuit and periodical switching of the switching element; a transformer which comprises at least a first coil and a second coil that are magnetically coupled together, and which is included in the resonant circuit as a part thereof, in which a first alternating-current power generated by the resonance type inverter 3 is supplied to the first coil, and a second alternating-current power converted from the first alternating-current power is supplied from the second coil to a load; and an impact suppression unit which causes the resonance type inverter to perform soft switching to fit a frequency difference between the resonance frequency of the resonant circuit and a switching control frequency within a predetermined range so that at least the electric current flowing in switching operation to the first coil or the second coil is equal to or lower than a specified value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
