To provide a vehicle center pillar in which rupture of a flange connection part at an upper part of the vehicle center pillar can be suppressed, the rupture occurring when the vehicle is collided at a vehicle side surface from a vehicle outside.SOLUTION: The vehicle center pillar comprises: a long outer panel arranged at a vehicle width direction-outside and having a hat-shaped cross-section; and a long inner panel which is arranged at a vehicle width direction-inside of the outer panel and in which a second flange part formed at both edge sides is joined to a first flange part formed at both edge sides of the outer panel by welding to form a closed cross section. A flange connection part at which the second flange part is joined to the first flange part and the neutral axis of bending of the vehicle center pillar have such a positional relationship in a vehicle width direction that the flange connection part comes close to the neutral axis from a vehicle width direction inside to overlap the neutral axis, or is located from the vehicle width direction inside to a vehicle width direction outside with respect to the neutral axis as proceeds from downward to upward in a vehicle vertical direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】車両側面に車両外側から衝突された際に、車両用センタピラーの上部におけるフランジ接合部の破断を抑制できる車両用センタピラーを提供する。【解決手段】車幅方向外側に配置される断面ハット形状で長尺状のアウタパネルと、アウタパネルの車幅方向内側に配置されて、両側縁部に形成された第2フランジ部がアウタパネルの両側縁部に形成された第1フランジ部に溶接によって接合されて閉断面を形成する長尺状のインナパネルと、を備え、第1フランジ部に前記第2フランジ部が接合されたフランジ接合部と、車両用センタピラーの曲げの中立軸との車幅方向における位置関係が、車両上下方向において、下側から上側へ向かうに従って、フランジ接合部が、中立軸に対して車幅方向内側から接近して重なり、又は、中立軸に対して車幅方向内側から車幅方向外側に位置するように構成する。【選択図】図3
