To provide a raindrop amount detection device capable of suppressing erroneous detection by a rain sensor while making an optimization inhibition range narrow.SOLUTION: An optimization inhibition rate decision part 106 detects a detection position of a rain sensor 101 based upon a raindrop amount that the rain sensor 101 detects, and decides a predetermined range including the detection position as an optimum inhibition range narrower than a temporary inhibition range. At this time, the optimization inhibition rate decision part 106 determines whether a wiper blade 302 passes by the rain sensor 101 twice while the wiper blade 302 reciprocates once in a wiping range. Further, the optimization inhibition rate decision part 106 sets, when it is determined that the wiper blade 302 passes by the rain sensor 101 twice, timing right after the second passing to a rear end of the optimization inhibition range. Consequently, while the optimization inhibition range is made narrow, the wiper blade 302 never passes by the rain sensor 101 at a position beyond the rear end of the optimization inhibition range.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】最適化禁止範囲を狭くしつつ、レインセンサの誤検出を抑制することができる雨滴量検出装置を提供する。【解決手段】最適化禁止範囲決定部106は、レインセンサ101が検出した雨滴量に基づいてレインセンサ101の検知位置を検出し、検知位置を含む所定範囲を仮の禁止範囲よりも狭い最適化禁止範囲に決定する。この際、最適化禁止範囲決定部106は、ワイパブレード302が払拭範囲を1往復する間にワイパブレード302がレインセンサ101を2回通過したか否かを判定する。また、最適化禁止範囲決定部106は、ワイパブレード302がレインセンサ101を2回通過すると判定した場合には2回目の通過直後のタイミングを最適化禁止範囲の後端に設定する。これにより、最適化禁止範囲を狭くしつつ、最適化禁止範囲の後端を超えた位置でワイパブレード302がレインセンサ101を通過することはない。【選択図】図1
